The grinding of vulcanizing additives essentially requires only the following two effects: stable particle size distribution and good dispersion properties.
The vulcanization process of latex is carried out on the surface of rubber particles and vulcanizing additives particles, therefore, under the condition of fixed dosage, the smaller the particle size of vulcanizing additives, the larger the specific surface area, which is equal to the increase of the actual dosage, and vice versa, it is equal to the decrease of the actual dosage.
Fine particles, due to their high surface energy, are easy to aggregate into larger particles due to collisions, which is equivalent to reducing the grinding effect. The rational selection of dispersant can wrap the fine particles so that they cannot be gathered together, so as to achieve stable dispersion.
For a long time, producers of rubber and latex products believe that the grinding of vulcanization additives is a simple job, and only need to use fixed equipment and formulations, and adopt a fixed grinding time to produce a stable auxiliary slurry to meet the needs of production and quality.
In fact, the size of the grinding beads will affect the grinding efficiency, and the grinding beads will gradually become smaller during use, and at the same time, the viscosity of the grinding dispersion will also directly affect the grinding efficiency, and the viscosity of the dispersion will change with the change of temperature. Therefore, a fixed grinding time is adopted, and the particle size of the slurry is different at different times.
